  • A. Marshall Acuff, Jr., CFA

    Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer and Partner

    As the former Chief Market Strategist at Smith Barney, Marshall Acuff brings over 40 years of experience and global leadership in investment strategy, research and investment management to Cary Street Partners. As Chair of Cary Street Partners’ Investment Committee, Marshall establishes the firm’s investment strategy and leads the Investment Strategy Team.

  • Bill Akmentins, CFA

    Director of Research

    With more than fifteen years of experience, Bill is a senior investment professional with significant experience managing complex, multi-asset class portfolios for both individuals and institutions. He brings great skill to Cary Street Partners in asset allocation and manager selection in all major asset classes including; hedge funds, traditional equities, fixed income, real assets and private equity. 

  • Theodore (Ted) J. Brown

    Director, Portfolio Advisory Group

    Ted joined the firm in 2006, bringing over 15 years of investment consulting experience. As the Director of the Portfolio Advisory Group, he works closely with the advisors in evaluating and managing current and prospective client portfolios, as well as providing insight on money managers, asset allocation, the economy, and financial markets.

  • P. Nathan Deal

    Research Analyst

    Nate has over 10 years experience as an analyst. Prior to joining Cary Street Partners, he was associate director of alternative investments at Sterling Capital Management where he also was a member of the asset allocation and advisor research committees. Before joining Sterling Capital, Nate was a financial analyst at Circuit City Stores, Inc. and an equities analyst at Davenport & Company, LLC.

  • Meg L. Marchant, CFA

    Research Analyst

    Meg brings six years of experience in the financial services industry to Cary Street Partners. She joined the firm in 2010 and serves as an investment advisory Research Analyst, providing due diligence on money managers and mutual funds. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in New York as an Associate Analyst in the Equity Research Department at Citigroup and Bear Stearns in New York covering Specialty Retail.

  • Will Stettinius

    Research Analyst

    Will Stettinius joined the Research Team in July of 2011 as a Research Project Analyst focusing on the research and communication of themes affecting global markets. He now works with Marshall Acuff and is a key member of the Investment Strategy Team.
