Walter A. Bayne, AAMS
Director and Partner
Walter Bayne brings over a decade of experience in the capital markets to Cary Street Partners. He is also a registered options and municipal securities principal. He is a Vice President and Partner and serves as a Financial Advisor in the Fredericksburg, Virginia office. He is also a member of the firm’s Legal and Compliance Committee.
Prior to joining the Cary Street Partners, Walter served as an advisor with both Stewart Wealth Management/Wachovia Securities (which merged with Cary Street Partners in June of 2007) and Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc. For eight years, he was also a manager in the Agricultural service sector, where he developed his real world perspective of market interaction.
Walter holds numerous securities licenses and designations including: Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 66, Life/Health Insurance and AAMS (Accredited Asset Management Specialist). In addition, he provides expertise in the areas of corporate, not-for-profit and small business retirement plans as well as insurance strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families.

Walter graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics. His philanthropic activities include support of the Avon Foundation, through their walk for breast cancer, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, as well as volunteering with the Salvation Army and The American Cancer Society. Walter and his wife, Shannon, reside in Spotsylvania County, Virginia with their son Keegan and daughter Caroline.
