Craig joined Cary Street Partners in May of 2011 and leads the Energy & Commodities industry group in the firm’s Investment Banking Division. Throughout his successful 15-year career, Craig has led capital raisings and strategic transactions totaling more than $20 billion. The breadth and depth of his experience ranges from acquisitions, investments and restructurings as small as $3 million to managing a $9.6 billion corporate investment portfolio.
Throughout his career, Craig has held almost every possible executive level position and led numerous organizations through the critical stages of a company’s life cycle - from raising seed capital to securing large debt and equity financing to restructurings and acquisitions. And while his professional experience includes working with industry giants such as Microsoft and Nextel Partners, what is perhaps most unique about Craig is the passionate entrepreneurial spirit he brings to every client relationship.
Prior to joining Cary Street Partners, Craig served as Chairman & Managing Partner of BlackCreek Group, an investment, development and advisory firm he established in 2006. He was the Co-Founder, President and CEO of Osage Bio Energy from 2007 to 2010. Before founding Osage, Craig managed a business unit for Nextel Partners and helped lead the positioning of its sale to Sprint. Before working with Nextel Partners, Craig was a member of Microsoft’s Corporate Development & Strategy Group where he managed a multi-billion dollar investment portfolio and helped to restructure the company’s large investment in AT&T Broadband as part of its acquisition by Comcast. Craig was a co-founding executive team member of FirstMark Communications (a leading telecommunications infrastructure development firm in Europe and Latin America) before joining Microsoft. His extensive career began at Lehman Brothers in its New York M&A Group where he advised clients in Information Services, Telecommunications and Technology.
Craig is a graduate of Princeton University. He is an active Board Member of Canterbury Community Nursery School and has served as a volunteer and Steering Committee member for Princeton Annual Giving. Craig lives in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and two children.
