Charlie Hurt leads Cary Street’s Atlanta investment banking team and its Consumer & Retail industry group. Charlie has nearly 20 years of experience in investment banking, finance and management. Prior to joining Cary Street Partners, Charlie founded and served as President of CDH Advisors, where he provided targeted strategic and financial advice to consumer product, retailer, restaurant and food and beverage companies.

“I’ve been working in the consumer and retail industry for a long time, so I believe I understand what drives consumer behavior and can help my clients think strategically about their businesses,” says Charlie about his approach to investment banking. “I always encourage my clients to focus on what they want to accomplish, consider the full range of potential outcomes we put in place, and understand how the Cary Street Partners team can increase the probability of a successful outcome.” Leveraging his transaction and industry experience, Charlie can position a company effectively and identify and reach the best buyers or investors for the client.

During his investment banking career, Charlie has advised on over 50 strategic advisory, M&A and financing transactions. Prior to forming CDH Advisors, Charlie was a Director in the Investment Banking group at The Robinson-Humphrey Company, LLC and its successor, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey. He has previous experience with Lehman Brothers, Crawford Investment Counsel, ValuJet Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

A graduate of Princeton University, Charlie majored in politics and economics, and received his Master of Business Administration from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where he received the Alex Brown and Sons Fellowship and highest honors. He has lived in New York and Chicago, but has returned to his hometown of Atlanta where he now lives with his wife and two children.
