“We’re in the relationship business,” says Tom Tullidge, Founding Partner of Cary Street Partners. “Since our beginning, we have made it our job to do right by clients, to treat people well and to give both our clients and our team members the opportunity to succeed.” 

Chairman and Founding Partner Mark Gambill expresses the same sentiment. “We’ve always said we didn’t want to be the biggest -- just the best at what we do. Over the years, we have been very selective on growth. Those who have joined us have years of experience in bigger firms, but wanted to get closer to the client.”

Tom and Mark joined forces to found Cary Street Partners in 2002, after years of working at a large national financial services firm. Both were highly successful and respected leaders at the firm, but both knew they wanted to get back to doing what they did best and enjoyed most…working directly for and with the client.

Today, Cary Street Partners includes professionals in individual wealth management, institutional advisory services and investment banking.

“It’s as though we have the personality of a private Swiss bank,” says Tom. “We serve very important clients, but keep a low profile. That’s how our clients prefer it.”
